About SANO Laboratory

We design and develop functional soft materials and biomimetic systems using strategies in colloidal, inorganic, supramolecular, and polymer chemistry and technologies across the nano-, meso-, and macroscales. Our interests lie in the sophisticated hierarchical structures and complicated dynamics of living organisms, and our ultimate goal is to achieve innovative functions that surpass even those of biological systems by precisely assembling nano-building blocks into elaborate architectures via external perturbations. Our efforts are dedicated towards addressing various challenges in the field of materials science, with the objective of catalyzing innovation in both fundamental science and industrial applications.
